After ate some breads in the Airbnb, we took the MTR from Mongkok station to Central station. Today we were heading to Central area to try the popular local dishes recommended by the travel books. First station is 中環檀島咖啡.
Though it isn’t Disneyland, Zaanse still feeling excited for the trip of today.
Xavy fall sick since the day prior we flied to HK and he got worse during the Disneyland trip.
After the heavy breakfast, we walked around this street and took some photographs.
Guess what, the next food we were going to try was just located at the same street 士丹利街 so we didn’t want to move too far from this street.
The next day is Mid Autumn Festival, so everywhere were selling the Chinese Lanterns.
After some walks, we decided to settle the lunch earlier so that we can move to Tsim Sha Tsui earlier. This was the popular roasted goose at 一樂燒鵝.
We took the tram from the road and heading the Star Ferry Pier.
It was Zaanse and Xavy first time to take the tram. For us, it was also the first time though we have been to Hong Kong many times.
Finally, we reached the Star Ferry Pier and we saw the Hong Kong Observation Wheel.
And this was also the first time we took the Star Ferry. Instead of taking MTR, we tried the Star Ferry to travel from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon Island.
We always saw this in the Hong Kong movies, and now we have the chances to try it.
I guess this was only able to find in Hong Kong, which was quite special to us.
Just less than 10 mins journey and we have arrived in Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier.
The Harbour City just located beside the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier. It was the largest mall in Hong Kong and we were going to spend our afternoon time here.
We rented the pram from the service counter and the first stop is the nursing room. We need to change diapers for Xavy and refill the water.
The Toys“R”Us flapship store is really huge and we saw different collection of toys that we can’t find in Singapore branches.
There is a indoor playground in the Harbour City – Jumpin Gym USA. We spent some time there for the kids to release their energy.
The mall is big and we tried to look for some special restaurant and we decided to settle our lunch at Moomin Cafe.
[source: wikipedia] Moomin are the central characters in a series of books and a comic strip by Swedish-speaking Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson. They are a family of white, roundish fairy tale characters with large snouts that make them resemble hippopotamuses.
We ordered beef and baked fish, the food was not bad.
The utensils in the cafe feature the Moomin Characters, including the spoons and forks.
We ordered the Moomin character cheesecake for the kids to try and they love it!
For guests who dine-in in the cafe, we can request to have some Moomin characters for photo taking.
There are many different Moomin props for photo-taking.
Including these Moomin hats!
Zaanse fall love with these white props!
There are 2 Moomin Characters sitting at the entrance of cafe.
After leaving Moomin Cafe, we heading to Donguri Republic 橡子共和國.
Donguri Republic is the most beloved branches selling official Studio Ghibli goods including our favourite Totoro and other characters stuffs.
We choose some puppets to complete the collection I bought previously in Kyoto.
Captured last few shots before leaving, it’s the kids nap time.
We continued our way to Eslite Living Store 誠品生活尖沙咀店 which is just located at the building (星光行) next to Harbour City. There is a linkway to link between the two buildings.
The kids also fall asleep in their pram, we found the prams useful when the kids need to sleep.
We have our spare time to do some reading, and I bought this book “每一天，都是放手的練習2” (More Language of Letting Go). We spent almost 3 hours in the bookstore … the kids seem very tired.
After the kids woke up, we have some sweet stuffs at HanBing Korean Dessert Café 韓冰. It is rated one of the 6 best Korean Desserts in Hong Kong by HK Magazine and we found the dessert taste nice too!
We walked along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade with the kids.
The view is stunning but our camera can’t capture the beauty.
We settled our dinner at Chiuchow Garden Restaurant 潮庭 at Star House 星光行. It is just located in walking distance to Avenue of Stars 星光大道 and we walked back to Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade to see the 幻彩咏香江 – the famous games of lights from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
After the lights show, we took the bus from Tsim Sha Tsui Bus Interchange to go back to Mongkok Airbnb.
