After tried vanilla cupcakes, carrot cupcakes and pumpkin cupcakes, I finally wanted to try the chocolate cupcakes. I tried different recipes of the chocolate cupcakes and I prefer the second one which was moist and tasted better.

I baked my first batch of chocolate cupcakes on 10-October (Friday) for friends visit using recipe from allrecipes.com. To me, they were a bit dry and not as soft as I wanted.

I tried another recipe from honeysuckle catering and this version was nicer, moist and soft.

This was the ingredients I used, total yield of 24 cupcakes :
– 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
– 1 cups sugar
– 2 tsp baking soda
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 cup decaf coffee
– 2 eggs
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 1/2 cup olive oil
